If you think that's bad, don't try the pay-as-you-go Virgin Mobile service; I had text, and even voicemail, messages delayed for *days*. It was disastrous.

Ya, I thought it might of just been an E-Mail glitch, but this same email was sent to an external email address, which got it within 2 minutes.

I've had similar experience to Brice... 99% of the time it delivers within 10 to 15 seconds (using the email to SMS gateway). Every once in a while it'll be a couple hours later, but it's not very frequent. Maybe once a month or so. Since it's always been messages sent via the email gateway when it's happened, I've always chalked it up to the general unreliability of email...

For me Cingular always delivers SMS messages reliably anywhere from 3 secs to 3-4 hrs after they are sent.

I haven't determined if the sometimes delay is only for when its sent via the email gateway.
