The Netvibes UWA, seems like a decent response/alternative gadget API. However, it seems pretty much dead since its release in April. It also doesn’t have a specific license or terms associated with the UWA API Documentation itself.
All I want is a public and open API for developing widgets and gadgets against. Sigh..

Me too. Does Bloglines have any interest in creating an open standard or supporting the UWA?

I think if UWA was explicitly made an open standard, and parts of it were actually written like a standard, and if it looked like NetVibes hadn’t just dropped it dead since release, Bloglines would be very interested in just using UWA.

Hey Paul, glad to hear of your interest for UWA. I can certify you that UWA is far from dead, and is a major project of Netvibes. Since April, we’ve kept improving and fine-tuning it, and will have a few good announcements soon. Stay tuned.
